After staying in Hyderabad for more than 6 years now, it's high time to revisit Hyderabad once again. There are places where I have visited time and again, but revisit here would mean consider visiting this places from a different perspective. Now, while trying to research about it once again, I could find that there are many places as well which I have not visited at all or was not aware at all at this while.
When taking about Hyderabad, Charminar comes first in anyone's mind. It has been the glory of the city for several centuries. Initially Hyderabad starting developing around this Islamic architecture, but eventually this started being called as Old Hyderabad now. Towards the north of Charminar is the Char Kaman, glimpse of which can be seen in the picture above.
Very close to the Charminar is the Chowmahalla Palace, which was the official residence for the Nizams of Hyderabad now mostly turned into a museum. This has 4 palaces - Afzal Mahal, Mahtab Mahal, Tahniyat Mahal and Aftab Mahal.
The decorations and the architecture of the Durbar Hall is a beauty in itself. In the Durbar Hall, lies the throne of the Nizams. The Palace also has a vintage car museum.
As mentioned earlier there are several other places to visit in Hyderabad which I realized that I am yet to visit. Among them few are as below:
Paigah Tombs
Raymond Tombs
Qutub Shahi Tombs
These are specimen of different types of architecture. Some others which are a little uncommon but worth visiting are:
Ananda Buddha Vihara - A buddhist Monastery located on the Mahindra Hills at Secunderabad
Swamy Narayan Temple, Rasoolpura, Andhra Pradesh - This a a Jain Temple in the lane besides Anand Theatre.
There are still lot to uncover and my search for the newer and less visited places will continue...
